Being caught in storm is actually a happy place for me and my landscape photography. Capturing the dramatic skies, colour and light whilst the chaos around you makes you feel very much a part of what is going on. Just before the heavens opened on this location I was able to set up this compositions using out of focused foregrounds featuring the iconic gritstone of the Peak District, to lead the eye up to the details and sculptures of Carhead, just below Stanage Edge. The image is frames with over a third of it under a menacing dark moody storm fast approaching from he Hope Valley to the left.
