An Artist’s Walk: A Lock-down Inspired Exploration of Landscape
The sudden inaccessibility of our natural surroundings during the COVID-19 lockdowns became the catalyst for this film art project. Losing the ability to freely engage with the landscapes we cherish forced a more profound inquiry into what we mean when we say we are inspired by nature.
This project is built around the question: What essential elements of landscape and nature shape our inner world and our art?
As soon as restrictions permitted, Ladoza began this film series to capture intimate sources of inspiration while exploring, predominantly in the Peak District. The goal was also to create a visual archive for himself and others, a tangible source of inspiration and connection, to the great outdoors.
The Artist’s Walk films are constructed from countless brief, evocative compositions—moments of light, colour, atmosphere, and texture that caught the eye over a period of days or weeks. These discoveries are edited into visual narratives designed to take the viewer on a meditative and inspirational journey. They explore the fundamental building blocks of the outdoor experience: Form, movement, energy, the seasons, symbiotic ecosystems, and the enduring connection we have to the earth.
Below you will find the Artist's Walk films, alongside an extensive photography gallery. Take a moment, step onto the path with Ladoza, and enjoy the series.
